Wooju Baik – Conductor
Winner of 1st Prize at the 8th Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition, along with the Orchestra Prize and special awards from the State Philharmonia Brașov. He was also named the inaugural winner of the 1st Romania Conducting Competition.

Wooju Baik is a Korean conductor based in London, UK. He has appeared with orchestras across Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, and the United Kingdom. Deeply drawn to the operatic stage, his repertoire includes Tosca, La Bohème, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Don Carlos, L’elisir d’amore, Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, and Don Giovanni.
He is pursuing a master’s degree in Conducting at the Royal College of Music on a scholarship, under Toby Purser, Peter Stark, and Howard Williams. He has also received mentorship from Colin Metters, Martyn Brabbins, Speranza Scappucci, and Vassily Petrenko.
In addition, he is participating in a collaboration project with the Royal Albert Hall. He has gained professional experience as an assistant under Michalis Economou, and currently serves as Assistant Conductor of the Orion Orchestra in London alongside Toby Purser.
